How to get GM

How to get GM.
Well, I'm sure you've seen us floating round.
Using our powers to assist the denizens of Azeroth and punish the wicked.
So, you want to be one of us huh?
Are you man enough(Or women enough, there are alot of female GM's haha)?
Well, What does it take to become a GM?
First, patience, by the bucketload. Think you can get home from a 10 hour shift at work or a 7 hour day at school, only to be begged for events and raids by every person imaginable?
Well, if the answer is no, then this job isn't for you, 90% of your time will be spent typing the following 5 word "No I'm not doing SWP".
If your gonna be a GM, think to yourself, why do you want to be one? What is it that makes you want to trade off being a player to help the community? For me, I thought that the responsibility that comes with a GM would be a good goal for me, I would like to undertake a different outlook to the game, instead of walking everywhere, I could zip about the world at the click of a button.
If your applying for GM to get the FD's, then this isn't for you, chances are, you will be far too busy to even play on your alt accounts.
So what specific qualities does a GM need?
1. Patience
2. Practice
3. Insight
4. Ability to take anything superiors give you, and turn it into something productive.
So, what do you need to do? How can you get GM easily?
Well, you can start by being a valuable member of the community, someone that would be missed if they were to leave. You have to have great insight into both the game, displaying maturity both in Azeroth and the real world.
Your judgement is key, over time you learn what punishment fits what, EG, Ip banning someone who called you a "Noob GM" isn't a good idea.
Impress others with your kindness, if I could give one person GM, it would be someone with great selfless compassion. Although may have no Experience as a GM, they display the characteristics that make a good person, as well as a GM.
A few pointers from my own experience.
Don't keep asking about GM, don't even think about it, the more you think you will get GM, the more you will be disappointed if you don't make the final cut.
Get on vent, come online and talk to other members of staff, we love speaking to you and hearing that you have to say about us.
Don't have any crosses against your name, any infringement will cause your application to be immediately disregarded.
Have a professional looking application, using your bestest grammar, also, jokes are always nice but try to keep it as professional as possible.
Have fun and get involved, the players I remember most are the ones who put themselves out there to make the playing experience better for others, helping lowbies level and newbies learn about the game.
Best of luck for all applicants, also, just because you follow all of these tips, doesn't mean you will be guaranteed a GM position.
