Well, I'll start trying to promote roleplaying here, since I'm a big fan and I found Kaiyn who is a big fan of roleplaying too. I'll try to hook you into this awesome huge world of fun and imagination
Hey Moony, tell me, what the hell is that roleplaying thing?
It's really easy, actually. Remember when you were a little kid and played "cowboys" with your friends? Well, Roleplaying in World of Warcraft is nothing more than an advanced version of that game. Roleplaying is a way for people to express themselves and their creativity while having fun at the same time. When you roleplay, you take on the role of your character, taking into account his past and his way of thinking and solving things out. Before you do or say anything, you should ask yourself "Would my character really do this, in x situation?". The best way to think of roleplay is as a collectively written fantasy novel.
Oh, that's awesome, then I'll be Illidan's half vampire cousin.
Oh, noes! That's what we, roleplayers, call a "Mary Sue". A Mary Sue is basically a character made with more idealization than logic. Mary Sues are usually kind, righteous, have a heart-string-yanking past, more skills than they should and are prone to godmoddling. They might be propped up with 'interesting' traits, such as having a 'curse' which only serves to enhance their abilities, a lineage involving a canon character or a hybridism of different species. Such examples would be characters that are lorewise impossible (like a hero that defeated Illidan by himself, we all know Maiev Shadowsong killed him), or an exageration like a fusion of naaru slash eredar slash KaiynGM kind of being. These characters are highly disliked, so you should strive to avoid them if you don't want eyes rolled at you.
Boo, too bad. You're a meany. Now I want to create a character but I do not how.
Don't be sad! Come on! There are many things to consider while making your character. Before you actually begin to roleplay, you must consider other aspects, such as: Who is this character? What drives him? What makes him respond to different things in different ways? A character background or history can answer most of these questions. The key to a character history is to ensure that your creativity fits within the boundaries of the environment you wish to play in. Remember no Mary Sues.
Basics of Roleplaying
I. Roleplay Everything: A recent study conducted by the Higher Institute of Gnomish Achievement has concluded that 95% of WoW content can be role played. Battlegrounds have a background story, duels are a common thing between adventurers who want to test their might. The other 5% would be something like farming instances. I mean, Kil'jaeden gets killed at least once per week in our server, so there is an example of something that can't go roleplayed.
II. Talk in complete sentences / Use proper punctuation: Continuing with the fantasy novel metaphor from earlier, in role play we want a well written novel. Take the time to utilize basic tools in crafting your sentences. If this is too much for you, then what you are saying probably isn’t worth saying in the first place.
III. Do not use acronyms or abbreviations: Role play is an open form of game play. The more individuals you have playing, the better quality of game play. Even if you can justify the use of acronyms in role play, they have a tendency to cloud meaning unless you already know the code. So take the time to spell out your words and stop abbreviating.
IV. Promote Role Play drama, not real drama: Role play drama and conflicts are a joy and keep things interesting. However, real drama is a drag. If you don’t know someone very well, it is considered polite to send an out-of-character /Whisper to make sure the other person is willing to play along with your role play conflicts.

AddOns
I'm always looking for add-ons that'd be useful for roleplaying so I'll try posting a couple of the ones I already know. I'll post GHI first and then keep editing.
GHI gives the possibility to create items for roleplaying. It can be everything from simple props to items with advanced right click functions. The items got no effect on game mechanicals, but exist in the GHI backpack and can be used in links etc as detailed RP props. In that way it can enchant the RP experience with more immersion and creative options. None of them items can interfear with the game mechanicals, like combat.
Currently GHI include the following features.
Management of items in a backpack environment similar to the original backpacks.
Copy items and edit items made by yourself.
Possibility to link items in all kind of chats.
Trade items to other players with the addon, trough the original trade frame.
Place items in the original action bars (excluding the main action bar).
Create items with right click effects.
Currently users can add one or more of the following right click functions:
Cast a non combat buff on you or your target (if the person got the addon).
Create a letter or book.
Create additional secondary bags.
Create an item that gives reputation (with GHR).
Do a single or a random expression(emote or say).
Play a sound
Execute a script.
In combinition with a lot of costumable requirements for items, it gives a lot of options to be creative and create interesting items to enchant and support the RP.

I'll edit this guide when I have more free time.
See ya later!
